Economic Development

The City of York has planned for the next decade, which is already proving to be an unprecedented period of growth. These planning efforts include adoption of various ordinances to set design standards for the city, starting up a local government access channel to improve communications with the community, and construction and renovation of new municipal facilities to maintain excellent provision of local government services.

These facility improvements include a new fire station which will result in better insurance premiums due to an improved district-wide ISO rating and renovations to the police department. Major road projects already approved include a multi-lane connector between Interstates 85 and 77 with the central point being the City of York's Bypass. Economic Development efforts include recruitment for the existing industrial parks while York's Comprehensive Plan calls for the planning of a new industrial park. Currently, various parcels are available to accommodate numerous uses at our area industrial parks. For additional information, please check out York County Economic Development Board.
